Once a highly competitive smartphone category, under Rs 15000 price category largely remains deserted at present. We have brought some of the devices that are worth considering in this segment which is price from 12500-15500. This article features devices which are mainly in a transition stage to 5G. We hope to give you an idea about the performance and other capabilities of these which we consider the best mobiles under Rs 15000 price range.
Motorola G62 5G
The game changer in Mobiles under Rs 15000 was Motorola which came with a power packed performance and gave an overall a good experience. Moto at present has taken up the space that was left by Redmi and Real-me. Specifications of the Moto G62 are:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G I octa-core I 2.2 GHz processor.
- 50 MP +8MP +2MP Rear & 16MP front camera.
- 55-inch Full HD+ Display with 120 Hz refresh rate
- 5000mAh battery, 20W charger provided in the box.
- Dolby atmos audio system
Motorola devices give near stock experience free from bloatware and ads. This moto device also comes with all special moto gesture experiences like chop chop flashlight, twist to open camera, three finger screenshot with others. The rear camera provides good clicks during day and also in night light but front camera is a bit of let down from what we have seen from the pics. This device is said to provide business grade security with think shield technology that protects from spyware, phishing and hardware security. The fingerprint sensor comes in the side of the device. G62 fully charges in around 1.45 hours. G62 is also splash resistant with IP52 and comes with Android 12.
Our verdict is that SD695 is not enough to smoothly carry out all the functions. As any other Moto phones this too gives stunning pics, but without a faster processor the camera gets laggy with time and optimization will fall out of place, thus due care of the device should be taken to keep it right. Also, we cannot install G cam in it. Some users complained about faulty set of the model and that is a cause of concern from a brand like Motorola. The device also lacks an AMOLED display.
Motorola G72
A 4G variant in the same price segment from Motorola with a 108MP camera and pOLED display.
- Mediatek Helio G99 I octa-core I 2.2 GHz
- 108MP+ 8MP+ 2MP Rear & 16MP Front camera.
- 55-inch Full HD+ Poled 120 Hz 10 Bit display
- 5000 mAh battery with 33W turbo power charger in box
- In display fingerprint
- Hybrid sim slot
Moto phones with 6000 mAh were some of the heavy handsets but this one is on the lighter side. Rear camera is pretty decent even though it is equipped with a G99 processor. Still photography is the best in this. Front camera is also good but not the best. That being said, gamers should stay away from this and should consider G62 with SD695. It comes with hybrid sim slot. This device fully charges in an hour and this device is a beast if you get it at a highly discounted rate and you are not in the practice of using its memory to the maximum. Our verdict as in all moto devices is that if used carefully then it will surely be a good experience with moto thus, it makes in the list of best mobiles under Rs 15000.
Samsung Galaxy F14 5G
- Exynos 1330 – Octa Core- 2.4 GHz Processor
- 50MP+2MP Camera, 13MP Front Camera
- 6-inch Full hd+ LCD Display
- 6000 mAh Battery, 25W, No Charger given in box.
Samsung F14 has a 5nm processor and has very good performance and connectivity. It has a 6000 mAh battery which supports 25W fast charging, which is to be bought from outside. Even with a 6000 mAh battery, the device weighs only 205 g. This 5G device comes with 13 bands. Indoor and macro photos are very good, while outdoor and night photos are also decent. Display is not great and as other Samsung mobiles in this range, this one also is not capable to process high end games and has heating trouble.
Our Verdict: It has good overall performance, but not for gaming. Camera quality is great and there are no connectivity issues. Battery is a plus point but only if charged with its maximum capacity. Also Samsung’s credibility makes it to the list of best mobiles under rs 15000
Realme 9i 5G
- Mediatek density 810 5G octa core 2.4 GHz
- Upto 1TB expandable capacity
- 50MP + 2MP + 2MP AI Triple Camera
- 8MP Front Camera
- 6 Full HD+ +IPS LCD Display
- 5000 mAh Battery, 18W Fast Charger with charger in box.
Chipsets are impressive with good 5G connectivity. It also has a flashy reflective design, what the company calls a Laser Light design which reflects light like a CD. The device has got good looks. Rear camera performance is good while front camera is not up-to the mark. But what surprised is the night pics. It looked better than other phones in the under Rs15000 price range. Realme 9i 5G has got a side mounted fingerprint.
Our verdict: It being one of the phones which offered 5G in the initial period, it has stood the test of the time. But it is not anymore suggested for heavy usage. Only positive which gives it the rank is that it will give better performance for occasional uses like for elders, and it’s a better option in Mobiles under Rs15000 price range from Realme brand. Also the design stands out from the crowd. New entry Realme C55 lags in case of processor and doesn’t provide 5G connectivity though it is bigger in size, better charging speed, and has a price range below 9i.
Poco M4 Pro
- Mediatek dimensity 810 / octa core / 2.4 GHz
- 50 MP + 8MP Camera and 16 MP Front Camera
- 6-inch full HD+ Display
- 5000 mAh Battery, 33W Power Adapter included in box.
Along with a powerful processor it has UFS 2.2 WriteBooster for solid performance. M4 Pro has got 90 Hz refresh and 240 Hz touch sampling rate. Day light photos in this phone looked very nice and night was also good. But according to user reviews, camera did get deteriorated in quality after some time and there is no 4k recording. Company claims that the Poco M4 Pro charges to full in 60 minutes. Users too reported the same, but they had disappointment in the fast discharge of battery too.
Our Verdict: Phone is ok if you want a 5G phone with better performance and good refresh rate. Display and Screen size is a plus point. But Camera is like any other Poco handset, and the battery discharge issue means that you won’t be able to have heavy usage.
Vivo T2x 5G
- Dimensity 6020 – octa core – 2.2 GHz Processor
- 50MP + 2MP Rear Camera. 8MP Front Camera.
- 58 inch Full HD+ LCD Display
- 5000 mAh Battery with 18W Fast Charge
Flaunts a 7nm 5G processor. Company claims a Super Night Mode Camera with noise reduction and frame merging methods. It comes for around 15k for 8GB, 128 GB. Macro Camera looks good but otherwise the cameras are not up to the mark, but decent in Mobiles under Rs15000. Charging is slow and slight heating issues after long use. The fingerprint sensor is in the side and not in display.
Our Verdict: The device is not made for top end gaming and surprisingly this vivo doesn’t have much to flaunt about its camera as well, but pictures look better than Vivo T1. This device is only for vivo fans who want to upgrade to 5G.
Infinix Zero 5G (2023)
- Mediatek Dimensity 920 I octa core I 2.5 GHz
- 78-inch Full HD+ LCD LTPS Display
- 33W rapid charger
The go to gaming device in Mobiles under Rs15000 price category, Infinity zero, with its powerful processor, 5G connectivity, Amoled display and fast 33W charging, is a real package. Front camera comes with a flash and the performance of both cameras are admirable. Infinix zero has side mounted fingerprint sensor, comes with android 12, and has NFC support. Phone gets 50% charged in 30 minutes. SAR value of the device is: head- 0.948W/KG and body- 1.105W/KG.
Cons reported by users included low calling voice and unsatisfactory battery backup. Battery backup can be improved by app optimization but then also gamers should keep this in mind as they use more hours in a game. It has no heating, and all games can be played in high graphics. The screen size is largest in the segment thus making it to the list of best mobiles under rs 15000
iQOO Z6 Lite 5G
- World’s first Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor
- 1 TB expandable memory
- 4 components cooling system.
iQOO Z6 lite has 2 5G band and its performance is commendable. The device also takes pride in its 120 Hz refresh rate and a good battery performance with 5000 mAh 18W fast charging. 50MP rear camera with ‘Super Night mode’ is a letdown as most of the customers found its camera very bad, particularly for video recording. The device takes 2.30 hours to fully charge. Though its UI has got bloatware, it gives a somewhat smooth experience on the software side.
Our verdict is that although the performance of this device is good, it lacks behind in almost all other criteria of a mobile under Rs15000. Yet It can be considered an option as its price falls around 13k for 6 GB-128 GB variant making it one of the cheapest that we review in this post of best mobiles under Rs 15000.
Vivo T1 44W
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 680-Octa Core- 2.4 GHz Processor
- 50MP+2MP+2MP Rear Camera and 16MP Front Camera
- 44-inch Full HD+ AMOLED Display. 408 PPI
- 5000 mAh Battery with 44W Flash charging. 50% in about 28 minutes.
This device was realeased in the first half of 2022 and is not always available. This is for those who are interested in a Mobile under Rs15000 from Vivo and is still relevant in that case. Clicks are good with real colors and it has a wonderful design and compact size. The battery gets fully charged in 1.5 hours. Vivo T1 has fast in-display fingerprint sensor.
Our Verdict: SD 680 is pretty slow, and the device does got hanging issues, so not suggested for young lads who uses it more often. Its UI is also sticky. If you are a below average mobile user then you can go for its compact size, practical camera and good charger and sensor.
